Countryside Between Chengdu And Leshan

Beside family members, I always had difficulties photographing people. In China however, it is almost impossible to capture any city scenes without anyone in the frame. So it is more a question of patience - waiting for the right person to enter the frame. While I was a little out of my comfort zone, I enjoyed the challenge. As a result, you will see many portraits in this Sichuan series.

The family pictured above was intrigued to see me on this out of the way road and they were rather pleased to be photographed.

On the way to Leshan from Chengdu, we stopped to visit a farm. The main crops in the area are citrus and rice. Vegetables are grown as well. Some are salted and left to dry in the courtyard of the farms.
