The Apsaras - Cambodia
Apsaras are divine nymphs or celestial dancing girls from the Indian mythology. It was (is) believed that they could be used by the gods as agents to seduce or persuade mythological demons.
Over 3'000 carvings of apsaras can be found within the temple of Angkor Wat alone. Each of them is unique.
